Renia Schwartz Obituary (1925 - 2018)

Renia Schwartz, age 92, passed away on March 1, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Schwartz; parents, Chil and Pesele Scharf; brother, Jacob Scharf; and sister Estera Scharf who perished in the Holocaust. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Schwartz; son, Sandy (Sue) Schwartz; grandchildren, Jonathan (Mindy) Schwartz and Stephanie (Jake) Hinck; great grandchildren, Brayden, Braxton, Aubree, Bexley and Emma. Renia was an extraordinary person with a strong will to live: Holocaust survivor, amazing wife and mother, loving Grandmother and proud Great Grandmother of 5. She touched many people in her lifetime. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Sunday, March 4 at Epstein Memorial Chapel, 3232 E. Main St. Interment will follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Renia had a special place in her heart for the Red Cross because they helped nurse her back to health when she was liberated from the concentration camps.
