Shirley Barkan Harris, 89, passed away May 10, 2022, in Scottsdale, AZ. Born in Loraine, Ohio, and grew up in Sandusky, Ohio where she worked at her father’s photography store, Gainsborough Studios. She met her husband, Howard, at a Miami University football game and were happily married for 55 years. They moved to Cleveland, then later resided in Columbus, Ohio. They settled in Chandler AZ in 2007. Shirley proudly worked at Jewish National Fund (JNF) as a bookkeeper while residing in Columbus. She was also a lifetime member of Hadassah. Her visit with Howard to Israel when she turned 60 years old was a highlight of her life. Preceded in death by her parents, Ann Stokes Barkan and Samuel Barkan; husband, Howard M. Harris, sister, Rhoda Ross, grandson, Joseph Steven Zeidman and great grandson, Harrison Zeidman. She is survived by daughters Diane (Harold) Zeidman and Debra (Ernie) Engle. Grandchildren Benjamin (Katherine) Zeidman, Joshua (Juliann) Zeidman, and Jeffrey (Katie) Zeidman. Survived by Great grandchildren Oliver, Isabel, Noah, Remi and Eliza and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 AM on Sunday,May 15 at Forest Lawn - Temple Israel Section.
