Sheryl "Sherry" Mulne

March 25, 1950 - February 14, 2018

Sheryl Ann (Sherry) Mulne, 67, of Columbus, Ohio, was surrounded by family when she passed away on February 14, 2018. For as unique and stubborn as Sherry was, a more unique and stubborn cancer ultimately took her from us. Sherry was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Dorothy Kessler Mulne (Bubby-Tootsie) and Dr. David H. Mulne (Poppy) on March 25th 1950. She graduated from Boardman High School in Youngstown, studied Social Work at the University of Michigan and Industrial Design at The Ohio State University. She was married to Dr. Charles Alan Derrow with whom she raised four children. Sherry was owner of Business Directions Inc., a company representing artisans in fiber arts. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Stuart Mulne (Sherri), and her sister Dr. Arlynne Mulne. She is also survived by her ex-husband Dr. Charles Derrow, and their four children (and spouses): Solomon and Catherine Derrow, Shoshana Derrow Krilow and Chad Krilow, Avram and Ginger Derrow, and Zoe Derrow Mitchell and David Mitchell. Sherry (Bubby) was beloved by all who knew her and will be especially missed by her niece Rebecca Mulne, and grandchildren Dovra, Gabrielle and Rafael Derrow, Charlie Krilow, Charlotte and May Derrow, Zev, Jianni and Drea Mitchell. Her home was the site of grandchildren’s birthdays, epic latke parties, and quirky seders that went late but never quite finished. A look around would reveal framed family portraits, handmade crafts from her children and grandchildren, and of course the posed glamour shots in her full belly-dancing regalia. Sherry was a constant presence in the lives of a large and varied family of birth and choice. To all of those family members and friends who read this, remember how very loved you all were. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, February 20, at Epstein Memorial Chapel, 3232 E Main St, Columbus, OH 43213. Family will accept visitors at the home of Solomon and Catherine Derrow at 124 S. Remington Road, Bexley, Ohio, 43209 on Tuesday, February 20th between 4pm-6pm and Wednesday, February 21st, between 3pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
