Lillian R. Kanter passed away Thursday, April 22, a week short of her 90th birthday. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Abraham Herbert Kanter, physician and founder of Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (David) Brandt of Columbus, Rosanne (Mark) Rosen of Columbus and Karen Robins of Washington DC, as well as her seven grandchildren, Stacey Brandt Royer (John), Jill Brandt Abolt (Craig), Adam (Eleanor) Brandt, Sara Jane (Brian) Harris, Halley Rosen Moses (Rob), Jamie Robins Finch (Brian) and Jody Robins Rosenzweig (Sid) and fourteen great grandchildren, Hannah, Libby and Sari Royer, Josh and Alex Abolt, Andy and Mia Harris, Emma, Caroline and Jane Finch, Henry and Stanford Brandt and Ayliana and Jake Moses. Lillian was the co-founder of the Lillian and Herbert Kanter Manor, a congregate living center at Wexner Heritage Village. She was an Emeritus life member of the Wexner Heritage Village Board of Trustees and a committed volunteer. She was a life member of Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women and lifelong member of the sisterhoods of Agudas Achim and Temple Israel. With a passion for music, she never missed a concert. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, and grandmother, a sincere friend and a lover of bridge and chocolate. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Rabbi Cary Kozberg, Margaret Thurman, Yolanda Saunders and the caring staff at Wexner Heritage Village. Funeral service 11 am, Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Wexner Heritage House, 1151 College Ave. with Rabbi Cary Kozberg officiating. Shiva will be observed at Barbara and David Brandt’s residence on Sunday and Monday.
