Jerry S. Schiff, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2015. Preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Henrietta Schiff. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Tracy (Michael) Van Den Boomen and Kim (Chris) Gongol; sons, Eric Schiff, Steven (Barbara) Schiff; Jim (Jennifer) Smith and Brian (Heidi) Smith; brothers: Leonard (Joyce) Schiff and Robert (Judy) Schiff; grandchildren: Samantha, Jack, Shayna, Tommy, Lucas, Eliana, Jason, Emma, Jake & Tyler; the marvelous Donahue clan, brothers & sisters-in-laws; and nieces, nephews, cousins. Jerry attended Columbus Academy (class of 1948) and The Ohio State University (class of 1952) where he excelled at basketball and served as the first Jewish captain of their tennis team. In 2008 he was inducted into the JCC Sports Hall of Fame. He began his business career with Schiff Shoes/Shoe Corporation of America and went on to success in commercial real estate in Philadelphia, Chicago, South Eastern Florida and Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 22 at EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Debbie Lefton officiating. Burial will follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Carol Schiff on Sunday from 5:00 – 8:30 pm and Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
