Howard was born on January 11, 1946, in Los Angeles. When he was eight, he and his family moved to Cincinnati and later to Columbus, where Howard graduated from Eastmoore High School. He then served for two years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. He was stationed at U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern, Germany. Upon completing his military service, Howard worked in the banking and collections industry. In 1972, he married Mickey Lyons in Columbus. They were blessed with two children, Staci and Scott, and later two beautiful granddaughters. Howard was an avid sports fan, reading Sports Illustrated and watching his favorite teams -- the Reds, the Bengals, and the Buckeyes. He was friendly and outgoing and took great pride in introducing his family to others. Howard could make friends with anyone and never met a stranger! He was a great joke teller, with a keen and quick wit. He loved the Outer Banks and fondly remembered his visits there with family and friends. He also loved dogs -- most especially Chows. Howard spoke often of his beloved Chow named Nikki. For the last several years, Howard resided at Wexner Heritage Village, where he enjoyed doing latch hook art and playing bingo with the other residents. Howard left an impression on all he met. He will be missed. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 3, 2016, at New Agudas Achim Cemetery, 2565 Performance Parkway.
