Edis "Cookie" Krupman Obituary (1940

Edis "Cookie" Gelin Krupman died March 19, 2008, surrounded by loving family and friends, for whom this untimely loss is inestimable. Born Feb 24th 1940, to Jack and Jean (Wolman) Gelin of Columbus, Ohio, she spent her entire life in the Bexley area. Cookie is survived by husband Victor S. Krupman; daughter Marla Krupman and fiancé Dan Bernstein of Chicago; daughter Andrea Lee Krupman (Joseph) Powell of Miami; and son Jeffrey Nathaniel Krupman and Robin Jane Reilly of Berkeley. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Edward (Joanne) Gelin, Benson (Ruth) Gelin; three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Cookie, AKA "the noodle kugel queen," was a force of nature, an unwavering and loyal friend, consummate hostess, brilliant party planner, and perhaps most of all, a surrogate but favorite grandmother to virtually every child born to her dearest friends, all of whom will miss her beyond measure. As founder, owner, and impresario of event planning and floral company Lagniappe, she brought that "something extra" to every wedding, bar mitzvah, anniversary, or gala she planned and executed. She also was a favorite client to countless vendors in the city and beyond. Cookie was especially proud to have been a founding member of the Board of Directors of Marburn Academy. Cookie never met a stranger, and undoubtedly kissed more babies than a presidential candidate, but she actually meant it. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 11:00AM CONGREGATION AGUDAS ACHIM 2767 E. Broad St., with Rabbi Harold Berman officiating. Burial to follow at the NEW AGUDAS ACHIM CEMETERY. Shiva will be observed at the Krupman residence Sunday through Wednesday evenings with services at 7 PM.
