Claudia Rinkov Obituary (1949 - 2010)

Claudia Lynn Rinkov, age 60, of New Albany, passed away on February 1st, 2010 at Zusman Community Hospice after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born August 10, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. She was a graduate of Woodward High School and The Ohio State University. She taught 1st grade at Dunloe Elementary. Claudia was active in many Jewish organizations, including The Columbus Jewish Federation and being in the first class of the Wexner Heritage Foundation Leadership Program. She was a loving wife and devoted mother as well as a wonderful friend to many. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Claudia is survived by her husband, Dr. Mark Rinkov; children, Joshua Rinkov & Beth Kleineman (fiancé), Jeff & Ginna Rinkov, Rachel & Dr. Andy Abeles; grandchildren, Leo & Ian Rinkov; dog, Owen; parents, Max & Helen Werner; siblings, Sandy & Liz Werner, Doug & Melissa Blocker. Funeral service 1 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at CONGREGATION TIFERETH ISRAEL, 1354 E. Broad St., with Rabbi Harold Berman, Rabbi Michael Ungar and Cantor Jack Chomsky officiating. Burial to follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings at 5:30 at the Rinkov residence.
