Bevlyn Simson Obituary (1917

Bevlyn Simson, of Columbus. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Theodore R. Simson. Bevlyn is survived by daughter, Sherran (Roger) Blair; son, Doug (Joyce) Simson; grandchildren, Dee Kates, Kay Rothman (Charles Durlacher), Kory Blair, Elizabeth (Jason) Weinstein and Alex Simson; and great-grandchildren, Andrea and Kevin Kates. She received a BFA and an MFA degree both from The Ohio State University. She is included in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who of American Women. Her works are included in many permanent private and public collections including the Columbus Museum of Art, Capital University. Fordham University in NYC, Kyoto City University of Fine Arts in Kyoto, Japan and President Richard Nixon. She has had major exhibitions including at the Columbus Public Library, Columbus Museum of Art, Bodley Gallery in NYC. A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM, Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at TEMPLE ISRAEL, 5419 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213, with Rabbi Misha Zinkow officiating. Shiva will be held at Bevlyn Simson's residence.
