Barrie L. Schwartz Obituary (1941 - 2013)

Barrie L. Schwartz, age 71, passed away on March 6, 2013. Preceded in death by his wife, Linda and father, Harry Schwartz. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Schwartz; sisters, Robin (Charlie) Bagwell, Eileen (Donald) Thomas and Stacy (David) Lowe and many nieces and nephews. Barrie discovered amateur radio in 1956 and has been a ham radio operator ever since. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 - 1963. He took his love of telecommunications and began a 42 year career with the Federal Government at various different posts serving as a telecommunications specialist, ending his career here in Columbus at Defense Logistics Agency in 2005. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am on Sunday, March 10th at FOREST LAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS - TEMPLE ISRAEL SECTION, 5600 E. Broad St. with Rabbi Cary Kozberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Wexner Heritage Village in his memory.
